Duesseldorf Photo Weekend

So last Saturday Linda and I met up in Düsseldorf because there was an event spread over the whole city called "Duesseldorf Photo Weekend" and we wanted to visit some of the photography exhibitions and galleries. First, we went to NRW Forum and started our cultural tour there. The exhibition was quite nice and inspiring, although I always have difficulties with some people's understanding of what is art and what is not. Simply showing a chair is not that much art for me personally spoken but there were other works which caught my interest to a great extent, such as the works of Jeremy Kost, Andreas Mühe, Elina Brotherus and Maziar Moradi. Unfortunately, one was not allowed to take any photos of the exhibited works but I managed to take some secretly of the polaroid art by Jeremy Kost. These really were among my favourites! But so were the photos of pissing Nazis in the small "Obersalzberg" exhibition by Andreas Mühe, the pictures were fascinating and entertaining at the same time.

After visiting the NRW Forum, we went to two other exhibitions, the "Galerie Bugdahn und Kaimer" as well as the "Akademie-Galerie - Die neue Sammlung", some others could not be found by us and one turned out to be an art gallery instead of one for photography. Sadly enough there was not any map printed on our flyers where all the exhibitions were listed in and it was so bitingly cold that we did not have much patience and motivation to look for some more. So we enjoyed our time at Dulce with some hot waffles, cream, self-made chocolate icecream and hot drinks.
